Two Double Birthday Parties
While we were visiting my family, we had a small party for Spunky and Bunky.
In attendance were my family and my cousin’s wife and her daughter.
My mom went out of her way and made a dairy-free cake with dairy-free icing for Spunky.

Bunky really enjoyed his birthday cupcake!

Everyone had presents to open.
And how could I leave out Emme…
Isn’t she adorable!

I was really excited when I found this for Spunky:
A child-sized baby sling~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back home, we had another birthday party ON Bunky’s birthday.
We had around forty people at our home for cake and opening presents.
I made Bunky a frog cake because Punky said to me,
“Bunky told me he wants a frog cake for his birthday.”Spunky requested a marshmallow princess cake, so that is what she got!
I also made my Pink Party Punch.

I set up a table with cookies for the kids to decorate.
I think Spunky made three cookies– and ate them all!
This is one of my favorite photos from the party!
Spunky’s Polly Pocket from her cousins was her favorite gift of the day.

Bunky enjoyed opening his presents as much as a sick little boy could.
He was such a sweetheart even with his high fevers. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family, near and far.
Thank you all for sharing these milestones in our children’s lives! -

Pioneer Village
Last week, the big kids stayed with Grandma and Grandpa for a few days while the rest of us stayed home. It was a nice, short break for me and I was able to use the time to get my homeschooling classroom somewhat ready and I sorted through the kids’ clothes.
On Wednesday, I went to pick up the kids, but we stayed through Thursday and spent the day at a local state park. We all had a great time, but it was very hot out.
This village has a working grist mill.
We watched it mill corn,
and I bought ten pounds worth for only $6.I came home with a bunch of goodies: the ten pounds of corn meal, four framed victorian-ish pieces of artwork, old fashioned candy, a large heirloom tomato plant, and a purple basil plant.
Have you ever use or grown purple basil?
If you have, do you use it differently than regular basil? -

Another Case of the Terrible Sickies
It started on Christmas morning with my father-in-law’s stomach virus. Then I suffered from food poisoning from dealing with the raw turkey that night. The next day my mother-in-law was running a fever. Bunky has been miserable with teething. Spunky has had a terrible cough and, after taking her the doctor today, we discovered she has bronchitis and a sinus infection. My dad, mom and sister all have some kind of stomach bug, too.
What a mess!
My parents just arrived today after the long drive from their home to ours. My dad started feeling sick on the trip and it hit my mom tonight. And poor Spunky stays up all night coughing and coughing.
Please say a prayer for everyone.
Thankfully, my hubby, Punky and I have stayed relatively healthy…
and I hope it stays that way. -
Bunky’s Baptism
“Baptizing infants before they know what is going on is an expression of God’s great love for us. It shows that God loves us and accepts us before we can ever know or love him. It shows we are wanted and loved by God from the very moment of our birth.
To say that a person much reach the age of reason and believe in Christ before he may be baptized is to make God’s grace in some way dependent on man’s intelligence.
But God’s grace is not dependent on any act of ours, intellectual or otherwise;
it is a pure gift of love.”

Prayers over the infant and blessing of the water.

Putting on his cross and the churching.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!
Grandma and Grandpa came into town on Grandma’s birthday, so PUNKY baked and decorated a cake for her (with a little bit of my help, but not much!). It was delicious! Good job, Buddy!

Friday Fave Five #6
- Punky and Spunky running through the new house while Punky yelled, “I love the big house!”
- Coney, our littlest mini-dachshund, escaped from our old house, snuck under the fence and ran around through a neighbor’s yard, and jumped into our car because he didn’t want to be left behind. (The dogs are staying at the old house for the time being while our fence is being built).
- Hubby providing me with an amazing new house. I couldn’t ask for anything more incredible than this new home. I am so grateful.
- My in-laws coming into town for three days and working like crazy to help us move and clean the new house. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
- Feeling better and getting a lot done so that we can move tomorrow. I will be so glad when it is all over!
