Blessed Nativity of Our Lord!
Your Nativity, O Christ our God,
Has shone to the world the Light of wisdom!
For by it, those who worshipped the stars,
Were taught by a Star to adore You,
The Sun of Righteousness,
And to know You, the Orient from on High.
O Lord, glory to You!Today the Virgin gives birth to the Transcendent One,
And the earth offers a cave to the Unapproachable One!
Angels with shepherds glorify Him!
The wise men journey with a star!
Since for our sake the Eternal God was born as a Little Child! -
One Year Ago…
… we discovered this wonderful surprise right before Christmas.
The line is incredibly faint because I took the test when I was only two-three weeks pregnant.
And the tests say you can’t tell this early. Ha! I proved them wrong. And this year we get to celebrate Bunky’s 1st Nativity of Our Lord!
He’s really looking forward to it- can’t you tell?

Can You Believe Christmas is in TWO days?!
Spunky can’t!
Where is the time go?!
Even though I feel like Christmas came very quickly this year, I am glad that my in-laws are here to celebrate with us and I am looking forward to my parents’ arrival on Monday.

- Our first annual (hopefully) Dessert and Wine Christmas Party
- My dear friend, Audrey, who I haven’t seen in months will be staying with us as soon as my in-laws leave on Saturday
- Packing…
- My parents will be arriving right after Audrey leaves on Monday
- CHRISTMAS #2!
- Celebrating SIX YEARS of marriage to my wonderful husband on Tuesday
- Leaving on a trip with my hubby (and Bunky) to Gatlinburg for four days
- Celebrating my hubby’s birthday on the 31st
- Enjoying New Year’s Eve in Gatlinburg
- Coming home to finish putting together our Parish Cookbook so that I can submit it by the deadline

The Manger is Empty!
The other day, I looked over at our little manager set
and saw that it was empty.Spunky had taken the figurines and set them up somewhere else in the house.
I think she did a pretty good job.

Photos for Our Christmas Card
I finally got around to taking the photo for our Christmas card last night! It has been just crazy in our house for the past few months, and I had planned on doing this as soon as we got back from our Thanksgiving trip, but the stomach virus ruined that idea.
Here are few snapshots of the kids from the photo shoot:

“You Know What I Mean…”
our silly boy at the orchardPunky found a “Santa Hat” in his room, but could not remember what it was called.
So he yelled this down the stairs to me:
I found it!
It’s from that man.
The man with the long, long strings that he ties the animals to.
You know what I mean…

Our Christmas Festivities
We have a small house.
And on Christmas Day we had 16 people for dinner!
I completely forgot to take photos of the food. We had 2 hams, 4 turkey breasts, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, gravy, bread, cheese and crackers, boston cream pie, pumpkin pie, chocolates, and Christmas cookies.
People started arriving around 4 and stayed until almost 10. Somehow, our kiddos managed to stay awake that late! Fortunately, they have been sleeping in for the past two days.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Missing Family at Christmastime
We hadn’t planned on going back home for Christmas because we were staying there for a week over Thanksgiving (but that week turned into two with everything going on with my mom).
But, regardless, it is very hard to be away from family, especially when my mom is in the hospital. It is difficult to whole heartedly enjoy the day when people that you love the most aren’t able to celebrate. My parents and sister didn’t do very much for Christmas day. They are going to wait until my mom is out of the hospital to celebrate– maybe I’ll be able to go back for that!
I am so anxious to visit my mom. I have never been good at waiting and it is even harder when you are completely isolated from the situation.
Thank you for all the kind emails and comments. We truly appreciate your prayers!
