A Day’s Worth of Realizations

By | June 17, 2010

  • I have lost FOURTY-FOUR pounds in 9 months! Most of it came off after Bunky was born, but the continued weight loss is thanks to our low GL diet.  My hubby and I have both lost 10 pounds in about 8 weeks.
  • If I want to get Bunky to eat his prescribed iron-fortified cereal, which I mix with applesauce, it is going to be a huge battle unless I hand over the spoon and bowl so that he can do it himself.  I know he isn’t getting it all in his mouth, but some definitely is.  Thank goodness for his iron supplements.

Bunky Can Crawl

  • If I think at night, I’ll need coffee tomorrow, I should follow through and drink some.  I made a pot this morning, but didn’t get around to drinking some until just now.  My energy level was at a low by about 1pm, so in the future, I should drink my coffee before it got cold.
  • My friend, Trish, and her son are coming stay with on Friday and Saturday, and it hadn’t occurred to me that I should clean my house today so that I can just enjoy her company on Friday.  Then on Saturday, another friend who has moved away, is coming to town, and I am hosting a gathering for some ladies and children so that we can all spend some time with her.  Should be a fun weekend!

Punky Helps Clean

  • Our grass has been growing like crazy, and then I realized that we need to mow it this week- we usually pay someone.  Oops… I guess we’ll do it this weekend.  And, for the record, I like clovers and all the bunnies who come to our yard to eat them.  I will not be spraying them, thank you very much.
  • We need to put some type of baby gate at the top of our staircase.  Recently, Spunky has been sneaking downstairs in the morning and rummaging through things in the kitchen.  Sometimes it is my purse, other times it has been candy, but this morning it was a disaster! Spunky climbed up to the counter, pulled out the marshmallows, sprinkles, and pumpkin pie spice and mixed it all together with some popcorn I had popped last night.  Punky thought it was delicious, but all I could see was the mess his little sister had made.  Fortunately, Punky started cleaning up all the pumpkin pie spice for me while I wiped off Spunky.  He is seriously the most helpful child!

Congratulations on the weight loss! I’m fighting a rather losing battle myself…or rather, I’ve popped out to the sidelines for a bit. I need to jump back in. Good for you both!

Father hasn’t had coffee all day and is wandering around wondering why the IBU isn’t helping his headache. I just FINALLY convinced him to make some coffee. He should be headache-free in about…five minutes.

Our children have always been able to scale baby gates at a very young age. Sigh.

Wow…losing weight can be hard. Today I had the girls help me chop up vegetables: carrots, beets, cucumber, peppers, etc. and we made a salad. Yum. They are swimming everyday and loving it, so I’m trying to keep up with them. I swam 4 laps in the pool yesterday and I was so sore…
Sounds like you’re going to have a great weekend! Do you have any plans for Father’s Day?

Congratulations on the weight loss. I’m working on it too, but not nearly as much success. Children certainly make our lives more interesting. I’m sure it was a mess, but how interesting Spunky’s concoction is! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

he sure is a cutie, even if he doesn’t cooperate at meal-time.

Bees like the clover too, it’s good you don’t spray… and cutting it will encourage more to grow.

I too have suffered from my children’s early morning kitchen crimes! The best was when I found a sticky chocolate syrup mess all over my kitchen…. I could not find out where it came from. Upon further investigation, I found a child asleep in their bed hugging a bottle of chocolate syrup!

Congratulations on the weight loss! That must feel fantastic. I’ve been hearing more and more about the GL diet– I’m tempted to look into it further.
