Prayer for Someone Who Has Had a Miscarriage

By | February 25, 2010

I have had a hard time focusing today as my mind has been on my friend and the loss of her unborn child.  Thank you to everyone who has been praying for them.

Here is a short prayer that I found online:

Remember, O Lord, Lover of Mankind the soul of Thy departed servant, the infant who died accidentally in my womb from an unknown cause, who therefore did not receive the Mystery of Holy Baptism.  Baptize him/her, O Lord, in the sea of They compassions, and save him/her by Thine inexpressible grace.  Amen

I’m so sorry to hear of your friend’s loss. I’ve been through miscarriage too and it is so painful. One of those things we’ll understand why one day, but for now it makes no sense and just hurts. Thankfully, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me”. I believe they are with Him. I prayed for your friend. I am so sorry.
