My Favorite Girl in the World

Yup, she’s got another virus.

I am really concerned about Spunky because
she has enlarged lymph nodes ALL the time.

The doctors keep telling me that it is normal,
but then why is she sick all the time?

Does anyone out there have any ideas??

I hope she feels better soon – we will pray for her tonight. My husband had enlarged lymph nodes and he tested positive for strep and took antibiotics.

Hey Michelle,

My first born Katherine used to be sick and have enlarged nymph nodes all the time. A couple of things: do you have a Natural Pathic Dr. in your area? Often times, Chiropractors with practice Natural Medicine.

We first took her off cows milk. This help tremendously. Second, we started give her pro-biotics (acidopholus) for children. This will help boost the good bacteria in her gut. My girls also get a daily dose of vit. D, multi vitamin and vit. C.

There are some supplements that you can give her to boost her immune system. Cow colostrum is very good. I’m not sure if you can get it in your local health food store. Also, some Eichenacia could help.

I would take the time to seek out a good homeopathic physician, Natural Pathic Dr., etc. They are money well spent. Also, now many Dr.’s are studying natural medicine as so many people are looking to it for treatment.

If you can’t find someone, we have a great chiropractor that I bet you could call and he would give you advice over the phone. He does adjustments, but also is trained in natural medicine. He is Orthodox.

I know your frustration. Katherine used to get sick all the time! Now, she rarely gets sick.

I have asked several times about Damaris because her tonsils are huge all the time…thankfully she isn’t sick a lot, but it still concerns me. Your post is kind of inspiring me to keep checking out what might be wrong…

Hope your little one gets feeling better!!

Hey, I used to have this problem myself. Docs played it off for almost 2 years, and finally I went to an allergist who diagnosed me with severe allergies to grass and mold. 1 RX later and I have been perfect since. I am not a big “medicine” person but this changed my life!

I want to reiterate what Mat. Michelle said. I would be willing to bet it’s a food allergy. Could be gluten, could be dairy. Could be both. I also agree with seeing a naturopath. You will spend a bit of money, but your daughter’s health will be spared. From my experience and the experience of those that I know, doctors will only screw things up! God be with you. . .

I like all of the above suggestions…allergies are really an issue with me and my kids…large doses of daily vitamin C…Pouhe used to say 1500mg…Wes had his tonsils removed as a kid…will ask him tomorrow about it. Hope you get some sleep.

Our daughter was sick a lot also when she was younger. (A month didn’t go by that were not visiting the dr’s office…) She was on antibiotics full time for a while. Drs kept having to change them because she would become resistant. Well, she was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease (gluten allergy) when she was about 11.

She is 19 now and I can count the days she has been sick since then on one hand!…ok maybe 2 if you count common cold…

After we cut out the gluten it seemed she was a different child. Health and behavior improved!

This page on Dr William Sears’s site explains how to boost–or weaken!–the immune system. I’ve always been interested in the effect of sugar in lowering the immune response.

I’m sorry that she has been sick so much lately! Hopefully, she will grow out of it or the doctor can figure it out!
