We started with all caps, in ABC order and have since gone to lower-case with no trouble. Just sayin'. :)

H was slower with number familiarity as well at firt but we just played with a number puzzle and practiced 1-10 first doing silly things like glueing beans on a 1 and so on, writing it, and of course number books. I tend to not like to push my kids on concepts they don't get and give lots of resistance on. It seems like if we wait a while, the concept is then re-introduced and is understood almost effortlessly. Of course there are things worth pushing in a good way, but you know what I mean.

It's so funny because things I felt like I spent a lot of time with H on, her little brother has picked up practically through osmosis.

Nice website. :)

WAIT! Awesome that you found something to help but, as a preschool teacher, I implore you, teach him in upper and lower case letters. Yes, upper case letters are easier, but they MUST learn to write in the real way from the beginning.

Children should actually start learning to write in lower case letters first and the upper cas only as needed. In the classroom we introduce the letters in this order:
cadgqcoes xvwyzk lhtfijbprnmu
this is because each letter leads to learning the next letter (to make a c it's a half circle, and a is a c with a short line, etc...)
But great that you found a site that would help in this!

Since Niko is only 2, I have been doing flash cards with him and they work. I have been doing them before he was 2 and he caught on right away. We are trying to learn how to sit still in a chair! :-)

Alexa as all the number down but she has problems with some of the number too. Let us know if you find any helpful hints! :)
And those custom pages are so neat, thanks for sharing.
