From Deep Fried Snickers to Corn Dogs

By | October 6, 2009

This weekend was our county festival.  Main street and the nearby roads were lined with vendors.  We weren’t there long enough to really enjoy the festival, but the five of us did have a tasty lunch: brats, corn dogs, hot dogs, bloomin’ onion, and one deep fried Snickers.

Our Parish had a tent that my husband set up and coordinated.  He even made the beautiful sign in the photos.  We showed a the video From the Little Mountain and had many interesting conversations with people from all different walks of life.  As a result, several people have said they are planning to come and visit our church.  They also passed out flyers for our Yard Sale, the proceeds of which will go to our local food pantry.

My hubby enjoyed the deep fried Snickers, but Punky devoured the powered sugar.

Spunky finished off whatever was left on the stick.
And Sarah was able to steal a kiss from our chocolate covered little lady.

On the way home, both children came down with a intestinal virus.  Punky had been acting weird all morning, but didn’t have a temperature, so I thought we were ok to go out.  Little did I know, his tummy wasn’t feeling well.  I don’t think the deep fried Snickers helped, but he did enjoy it.
