National Cookie Month is Here!
By michelle | October 1, 2009
Did you know that October is National Cookie Month?
To celebrate, the kids and I are going to be baking cookies every Monday and then posting photos and the recipes on my blog. If you have a recipe you are dying to try, feel free to send it my way either via comments or to ourlittlemonkeys.net@gmail.com. We’ll test the recipe for you!
Mrs. Fields is celebrating, too, by giving away a free chocolate chip cookie to each customer on Thursday, October 1st from 11am-1pm- that’s today! So run on over to your local Mrs. Fields cookie shop and get your FREE cookie!
By the way, Mrs. Fields’ cookies are all natural- another great reason to go and get one!

At last, a perfect excuse to bake cookies several times a week for the whole month !

I have a great cookie recipe…they’re Lenten, too. Coconut pineapple drops. The kids love them too.
1 c oil
1.5 c sugar
9 oz. crushed pineapple (and juice)
3.5 c flour
.5 t salt
1 t baking soda
.5 t nutmeg
1 c shredded coconut
Mix the 1st 3 ingredients in one bowl, then the rest in a separate bowl, blend together. Chill dough for 1 hour. Drop on baking sheet and bake for 10 min at 400 degrees F. I often double the batch. Enjoy!!!
