Visiting Nonna in the Nursing Home

By | June 5, 2009

My Nonna (my dad’s mother) has been in a nursing home for a while now, and we were able to visit her a couple of times while we were away.  Our first visit was a little awkward; I felt like it took a while for her to realize who we were.  But the second visit went very smoothly.  She enjoyed being with the kids and having them sit on her lap.  They both hugged and kissed her whole-heartedly.  It was very sweet.

After the nursing home, my dad and I took the kids to a local family hangout.  I can remember playing miniature golf and getting ice cream cones there when I was a kid.

What a wonderful way to spend some time. I bet your visit meant the world to her and she will be able to talk about with her nursing home pals for a long time!!

Great job and neat pics!

God bless-

That’s great that you get to share this with your kids; I remember my Great Grandparents… they were really special!

Have a great day!

I enjoyed catching up on your blog – sending prayers to your mom, and to you as you travel. So precious to take your kids to see Nonna.

It is so nice for our children to experience moments with their great-grandparents.
