Aunt got Punky a subscription to High Five Magazine for Christmas, and his first issues arrived in the mail this week. He loves getting mail!

If you have any 2-6 year olds in your house, you should check this magazine out.  It is fun and educational!  From the website:

Highlights High Five is the newest offering from the publisher of the nation’s #1 children’s magazine, Highlights for Children. Like its older sibling publication, Highlights High Five is founded on the belief that children are the world’s most important people and helps set children firmly on the path to becoming curious, creative, caring, and confident individuals.

Each issue features a high-quality mix of Highlights fun:

  • read-aloud fiction stories—including stories that introduce the Spanish language;
  • a special Hidden Pictures® activity and other puzzles;
  • age-appropriate crafts and cooking activities;
  • poems and simple nonfiction;
  • finger plays and action rhymes.

This is an AWESOME magazine. When I first saw it, I was sceptical; but then I read through it. Needless to say, we now order these for all of our preschool classrooms now in my agency.

They really took some good time figuring out how to make this age-appropriate (rather than “dumbing down” from the regular version like some magazine have done).

Oh, this is fantastic! I have been looking to get my 4 year-old niece an age-appropriate magazine and have struggled to find a good one. Thanks so much for the recommendation :)

That was my favorite when I was a little girl, but I only got to see it in the Dr’s office when I would go for my allergy shots every week. I am sure you are enjoying it with him. I didn’t know it was still around.

My kids love this magazine, and I send a subscription to my niece as well. We also like Wild Animal Baby and Click
