Thankful Thursday
By michelle | February 11, 2009
It seems like all of my recent posts have been updates on all the hectic things going on in our lives. I wanted to take this moment to reflect on the things that I am grateful for in my life.
- the constant “I love you”s from Punky
- kisses from Spunky that are always first on both cheeks and then the forehead
- patience and unwavering love from my husband
- phone conversations with my family
- family and friends who call to check-up on me/us
- my body pillow
- saltine crackers and sliced apples
- wisdom of doctors and nurses
- a warm home with electricity (I never thought we wouldn’t have that- but life is full of surprises!)
- boxes slowly being packed with the help of Punky
- each handtracing (or “turkey”) on the boxes that Punky helped pack
- crispy chicken sandwiches with lettuce and tomato
- sleeping in on the weekend (even if I did have a migraine)
- watching Spunky mothering her baby dolls
- having everything that I need
- the way that my husband provides so well for our family
- bedtime prayers with the children
- My faith and church
- The Lord’s Prayer, which I have been praying when I wake up with nightmares recently (thanks to my pregnancy hormones, my dreams have been so vivid). It brings me such comfort.
- Our Father, who art in heaven,
- Hallowed be thy Name.
- Thy kingdom come.
- Thy will be done,
- On earth as it is in heaven.
- Give us this day our daily bread.
- And forgive us our trespasses,
- As we forgive those who trespass against us.
- And lead us not into temptation,
- But deliver us from evil.
- Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- Now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

I wish that we lived closer! I feel like we miss out on so much. Plus, I’d love to help you pack! I want to do it professionally! I want to offer a packing, cleaning out, and professional organizing service! Plus, I love to baby and pamper pregnant women!

I am blessed that you are so thankful!! (especially for my son – lol)
And the Lord’s prayer is one of the greatest foundations we can build upon.
We are so blessed to have you as our daughter (in-law)!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy. For many reasons it seems easy to see things with a “glass is half-empty” perspective these days. Thanks for reminding us to switch to the “half-full” view. Our lives really are full of many great things. I’m going to make my own list tonight.
