Thankful Thursday

By | February 11, 2009

It seems like all of my recent posts have been updates on all the hectic things going on in our lives.  I wanted to take this moment to reflect on the things that I am grateful for in my life.

  • the constant “I love you”s from Punky
  • kisses from Spunky that are always first on both cheeks and then the forehead
  • patience and unwavering love from my husband
  • phone conversations with my family
  • family and friends who call to check-up on me/us
  • my body pillow
  • saltine crackers and sliced apples
  • wisdom of doctors and nurses
  • a warm home with electricity (I never thought we wouldn’t have that- but life is full of surprises!)
  • boxes slowly being packed with the help of Punky
  • each handtracing (or “turkey”) on the boxes that Punky helped pack
  • crispy chicken sandwiches with lettuce and tomato
  • sleeping in on the weekend (even if I did have a migraine)
  • watching Spunky mothering her baby dolls
  • having everything that I need
  • the way that my husband provides so well for our family
  • bedtime prayers with the children
  • My faith and church
  • The Lord’s Prayer, which I have been praying when I wake up with nightmares recently (thanks to my pregnancy hormones, my dreams have been so vivid).  It brings me such comfort.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Now and ever and unto ages of ages.  Amen.

I wish that we lived closer! I feel like we miss out on so much. Plus, I’d love to help you pack! I want to do it professionally! I want to offer a packing, cleaning out, and professional organizing service! Plus, I love to baby and pamper pregnant women!

I’ve also not been following you here, but I’m putting you on my Bloglines. I love this post, great things to be thankful for. I keep you in my prayers, and pray that your pregnancy smooths out.

I am blessed that you are so thankful!! (especially for my son – lol)
And the Lord’s prayer is one of the greatest foundations we can build upon.
We are so blessed to have you as our daughter (in-law)!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy. For many reasons it seems easy to see things with a “glass is half-empty” perspective these days. Thanks for reminding us to switch to the “half-full” view. Our lives really are full of many great things. I’m going to make my own list tonight.
