Ice Storm of 2009
By michelle | January 30, 2009
Since Tuesday evening we have been without power. We had been bouncing to and from friends’ homes until a family from our church let us stay in the apartment above their garage. It is an incredible blessing to us and we are grateful beyond words!
Fortunately, our electricity came back on tonight. Since our house is still very cold, we are waiting until the morning to “move back in.” We will go and pick up our dogs from the kennel tomorrow some time.
I have the fun job of emptying our very thawed out freezer/refridgerator and taking care of the fatalities in our home: all of our guppies died. However, the snails are still hanging in there. I’m not sure how Punky is going to react to this. It looks like it will be an opportunity to teach him about death. Poor guy.
Once we are back home and settled in, I’ll post some photos. For now everything is bare bones. I will just be so happy to be sleeping in my own bed in my house again.
Sorry for the lack of posts and the fact that I haven’t been around reading and commenting on other blogs. Hopefully, this will start getting back to normal in the weeks to come. Thanks for your patience!
