Big Changes On the Way

We’re having a baby!
We’re buying a new house!
We’re overwhelmed… well, I am.
Right around Christmas, we found out that we are having baby #3. We saw the midwife on Tuesday, and had an ultrasound. I am only about six weeks along; so I am going back next Tuesday for an ultrasound to determine the due date. It looks like we will be meeting a new addition the first week in September. That means we’ll have August, September and October babies! Busy time of year for us! Spunky will have just turned two and Punky will be two months away from turning four. Talk about busy!
With this exciting news, we knew something would have to be done about our present living situation. We bought our current house two months before Punky was born, but grew out of it a long time ago. With my hubby working from home, we lose an entire room to his office. It was time for us to find a bigger place. BUT we had a long conversation about it and decided not to look at all. We were going to wait a while and then determine what we would do.
However, my industrious mother-in-law started looking online for houses in our area and found a house. It is 3800 square feet- more than 3 times the size of our current house. It has five bedrooms and three full baths. Everything is immaculate- it doesn’t need any work at all. It is an incredible investment opporunity for us during this time in the economy- as everyone keeps saying, this is the time to buy. We looked around at others houses in our area in the same price range and nothing compared. It is a huge blessing that this house fell into our laps.
We never imagined our life would be like this. We have so much to be thankful for … but the most difficult thing of all is being so far away from our families. I know it is hard on everyone to be a great distance from each other. It is heartwrenching to watch my children cry when a visit with family comes to an end. If I could have it the way I wanted, we would all be together. But, thank God for cell phones and Skype! At least we are able to keep in touch with our families on a daily basis.
It is hard making big decisions like this that keep you away from your family. I feel sad and excited, about both the house and the fact that this is another baby who will be born far away from family- it is very bittersweet for me. This isn’t a decision that was made lightly. After many tears and much prayer, we feel confident in this choice and in God’s provision for our family.
Please keep us and our family in yours prayers during this time.

Congratulations and Hugs. I know the feeling – I live far away from family too – I call my parents every day (I am a bit unusual that way) and my sister at least once a week… and if my sister moves to Romania, I am getting skype for sure!
May God give you peace through these changes!

CONGRATS!!! How exciting!! What a blessing to find the “prefect” house, just when you need it. It is hard living far away from family…we can definitely relate!!
Praying that everything goes through on the house, and that your pregancy goes well…

Congratulations on baby! We had three also.
I feel your frustration on being so far away from family. Our family is close by, but in March daughter #2 is moving to Moscow!
They will be there at least 3 years….maybe more….maybe less.
I know I will miss them terribly, but I thank God everyday of Skype and cell phone technology.
Im happy about your mom:)
