Meet Our Dogs

By | October 9, 2008

Kristina at Meadowlark Days asked for a photo of the dogs. So here it is:

alldogs

Leo is the big guy in the back- he’s a Labradoodle. He is a big “lover”.  He likes to cuddle and snuggle. He is really great with the kids; he’ll let Punky do just about anything to him.  Poor Leo spends most of his time in the backyard because our house is just too small for him to be running around in all the time.  But he is really excited when we bring him in for the night and he usually runs around like a “psycho-doodle” (as I call him) for a few minutes.  He’s a lot of fun!

Reese is to the left; she is our female minature dachshund. She is a lapdog. She loves to be scratched and to snuggle up next to anyone.  She is the most protective and barks at everyone who comes to the door.  She is a sneaky little thing, too.  She digs under the fence and runs away.  One time she even jumped on top of our dining room table and ate and entire roll of sushi and ginger- and she didn’t even get sick!

And the funny looking guy in the front is our baby, Coney.  He is also a minature dachshund, but he was the runt of the litter; so he doesn’t have the characteristic dachshund ears, but he is definitely a little weiner-dog. Coney thinks he is our equal. He is as stubborn as they come and completely un-trainable; although, he can do many tricks.  Coney is the Alpha-male of our pack, despite the fact that he weighs 75 pounds less than Leo.

Thank you so much for posting this! They are adorable – Leo looks so cuddly. My dachshund sounds like a mix of both of yours – cuddly and stubborn! Coney has that ‘boss’ look in his eyes…Aren’t dogs fun? Thanks again!

Oh – how have the dachs done with your babies?

I LOVE this picture. We have a rotti and she is just a giant teddy bear. I was cracking up at the term “Psycho-doodle.” Hilarious!! Thanks for sharing!

What a good picture of the 3 of them! Animals never pose that perfectly!

What a delightful blog. Thank you for sharing. I am a retired, involved grandfather of 6 and if you count the dogs, that would make it 9 total. Love them all and enjoy the interactions and antics.
